Golden Door Scholars provides college scholarships to undocumented students interested in pursuing a bachelor’s degree. The application is now open and the deadline to apply is October 25th. Can you help us spread the word to all eligible students about our scholarship and encourage them to apply?

- Applicants must not be eligible for in-state tuition or federal funding. You can find more details by state here.
- Applicants must be pursuing a 4 year bachelor’s degree

The Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. is pleased to announce its annual National High School Essay Contest for 2020. This contest is conducted on an annual basis in conjunction with our National Achievement Week Celebration.
The Beta Lambda Lambda Chapter will select scholarship award winners ONLY from the Gwinnett County pool* of applications received by the given deadline date. The winner will have his/her essay forwarded to the 7th District to compete at the National and International contest. The International High School Contest is open to all college-bound, high school seniors. Contest Deadline is October 16, 2020. The manuscript must be postmarked, or time stamped on the email not later than midnight, October 16, 2020, and sent to the Beta Lambda Lambda chapter committee chairperson no later than October 16, 2020 ([email protected]).
The essay must be entitled:
Learning about politics and life as a citizen is part of the transition to adulthood. During this stage, young people are introduced to political processes and issues, as well as, a range of political activities including voting and participation in social movements. “Against the backdrop of the global “Black Lives Matter” movement, why is it even more important for young people to become and remain politically engaged?”
International High School AWARDS:
Four College Scholarships
1st Scholarship: $5,000;
2nd Scholarship: $3,000;
3rd Scholarship: $2,000;
4th Scholarship: $1,000
Winners for the $1,000.00 Beta Lambda Lambda scholarships (application attached) will be announced on or before November 1, 2020. Winners of this $1,000 will be presented at the Beta Lambda Lambda Achievement Week Awards ceremony held in November (Place and date to be determined, may be virtual). The International High School Contest winner must be submitted by midnight, October 16, 2020 (application attached). Please use the following rules for the local Beta Lambda Lambda $1000 scholarship and international scholarship contest:
RULES:
The essay must be original neither previously published nor secured by copyright. The essay must be between 700 and 750 words in length. The type-written, double-spaced essay may be submitted via postal service or email in Microsoft Word.
Submission Process:
All submissions will be reviewed by your local Chapter (determined by your high school/home address). Submissions will not be accepted after October 16, 2020.
The following information for the contestant must appear on the first page of the application in this manner (Open and Print Page 1 with essay topic and general information):
